I’m not one to leave negative reviews though I’m still distraught over a haircut I received here a month ago. Asked the stylist for a trim, she proceeded to dry cut about 4 inches off my hair - much shorter than we agreed on prior. She kept insisting “it’s just a little bit, i’m just cutting all the damage” so I trusted the process and ended up wanting to cry by the time it was done. Even if her intentions were good, this was NOT a length I would’ve agreed to.

My ends turned out so uneven that when my regular hair stylist saw me just a week later for a root touch up (booked soon after since I was so upset), she offered to even them for free. She told me that no stylist in their right mind should be cutting off so much with a dry cut. Also questioned why there were random front pieces at such different lengths.

I’ve been here for a trim before with a different stylist, no problems.

Very displeased. I gave this place more than one chance but the customer service is terrible.

They advertise you could go back to get your hair fixed if you are unhappy with the hair cut but it’s a different story altogether when you show up at the salon.

One time, I got SCREAMED AT by a staff member for answering my phone while I was waiting for a hair cut. I wasn’t loud at all. She apologized later when I explained to her how out of line her behaviour was. It’s not the customer’s job to educate the staff at any business that they go to.

This place is not getting my business anymore.

Been going to this location for over 2 decades now, never had a bad haircut, staff is amazing and I always feel welcome.

Kathy, Chit, Heather and Shelley are the ones to see, honestly they all have given me a great cut over the years.

So, I have pretty substantial haircut anxiety due to a mix of bad prior experiences, having terrible thin and not-abundant hair, and gender dysphoria. I'm so happy to say that Borics was not only the first non-traumatic experience I've had in the past ten years, but it was actually enjoyable and I'm really happy with my cuts. Thank you for being trans inclusive 🙂

I've had 3 haircuts with 2 different hairdressers and they've all been great. I've gone in explaining that my hair is fickle and awkward to work with and they've not only been understanding, but they showed their knowledge by recommending haircuts that would actually look good on me while letting it be short. For example, today I came in and she gave me a wolfie cut when I asked for "short and androgynous."

I also witnessed the staff today serve about 5 senior citizens before me, and the way they handled them with such care, lightness, and cheerfulness was really great to see.

Also, price can't be beat!

Who would have thought I had so much better an experience at a "budget walk-in hairdresser" vs several $$$ expensive salons in Toronto?

Go Borics! I'll be back in a couple months!

Went here for the first time yesterday looking to get a haircut and was very impressed. Heather cut my hair and was thorough and careful to ensure I enjoyed my haircut and that it looked perfect. The prices are amazing and the location was clean and had friendly staff who were happy to help. I will definitely be coming here for all of my haircuts in the future.

I went to this store with hair that was reaching my shoulders, I asked for one inch off, and ended up with hair just short of my ears. I told the woman multiple times that It seemed too short, the pieces falling into my lap were longer than 2 inches. she kept saying "its just one inch, its just 1.5 inches, i just cut all the damage" as to justify cutting off way more than I asked for. The woman who cut my hair and the woman at the counter both dismissed me and didn't even look at the length she cut off as I was crying. as soon as she started blow drying my hair I asked to pay and leave because my hair looked so bad. I went to a different place for it to be fixed and the new stylist told me it was visibly uneven, with long pieces hanging off the one side and there was a chunk of hair missing from the back. Im now stuck with a terrible haircut right before school.
