So I go to H-E-B yesterday around 1 PM on a wet and cold day just wanting hot soup and what I found was empty soup canisters a dirty soup bar and when I go to the deli counter and ask if they plan on refilling the soup canisters they tell me almost in a rough way in one hour. I go to talk to the unit director name Scott and he basically placated me and offered me something else, but I wind up getting whatever soup was left and the soup that I did get was cold so now we have a food safety issue.

Hard to knock such a reliable supermarket chain as HEB. Pretty consistent products, decent variety, good customer service, easy layout to navigate.

My only complaint would be the parking and traffic in the lot gets miserable sometimes, but a pretty routine thing around here in Austin..

Keep up the good work guys! Thanks for finally adding tap-pay to checkout!

This is the worst HEB in the Austin area. The store is perpetually out of stock and the management is more concerned with berating employees than doing their job. This store made me a Walmart customer and I won’t be coming back to HEB because you are ridiculously expensive by comparison.

Really excellent supermarket. We were visiting friends for Thanksgiving and bought loads of stuff. I was super impressed with the size, variety, cleanliness. We live in the land of Publix (which I love) and Wegmans (ditto) and this place was just as good. You Austin people are lucky to have it.

Within this being a top tier grocery chain, this location is wonderful! Clean, organized, well stocked and enormous! They have every grocery, meat and fresh produce item you need plus a nice selection of seasonal items.

Reasonably priced gas too.

So I'm guessing the reason the staff at the self-checkout keep possession of the plastic reusable bags (yep, Austin ordinance) is because some dishonest people were using the bags for their groceries and not ringing them up.

Waited until the employee was finished with handling the other self-check folks needing something (6 or so registers monitored) to pay for bags so I could checkout, bag the items, and go.

Cmon, "Live Music Capital" patrons....you can do better than that.. quit being the bag thief or bring your own bags if you simply cannot control yourself so the rest of us can continue our day efficiently. ?

**I’m going to edit my review each time I receive a low quality item. Most recently, I received filet mignon’s that had disgusting brown edges. I also received toastada shells that were completely broken and unusable.

**I’m editing my review, shopping here has regularly become a one star experience. This is the cucumber I received in my curbside order. It’s complete mush. It’s bad enough that it was on the produce floor to begin with, but the fact that an employee could pick it up and think it was acceptable to place in someone’s order is ridiculous.

I used to be a die hard H-E-B fan but the diminishing quality and increased prices has left me really frustrated. I utilize curbside weekly, and it seems I’m having to call every other order for a quality issue, especially regarding old and moldy produce. I have a shopper note to please check strawberries for mold before picking, and again today I received moldy strawberries. They’re always more than happy to refund when I call, but the fact that they’re putting moldy produce on the floor at all, and then picking and charging for it, ESPECIALLY when there’s a shopper note is completely unacceptable. The response is always the same: “I’ll let the produce manager know” and then nothing ever changes.

Aside from the quality issues, I also had a customer service issue in the floral/balloon department at this location recently, which is very unlike the experience that H-E-B used to strive so hard to provide. Overall I’m just very disappointed in this location and the brand as a whole recently.

I was shopping for some stuff for fried chicken when I was invited to see their BOGO on seasonings. I specifically asked the employee at the stand if I was only limited to one pair, and they said no I can get multiple pairs on the BOGO.

I go to checkout, and of course I AM limited to one pair, and the info I was given by an employee was wrong. I had to take the seasonings off of my order. Any other grocery store would’ve simply honored it (it would’ve been like a $8 difference for yall to account for but I guess that’s too much for a big corporation)

I definitely have a bad taste in my mouth after this interaction, especially after shopping here so many times. Do better.
